Hi All,
We would like to share an experience with everyone, that Oh&Ah was very close to be a victim to a con-man incident during the recent KLDW2010 at CapSquare.
It was last Thursday 6 May 2010, happened between 3-5pm, CapSquare Dang Wangi.
An indian man, about 5 feet 8, average size, spoke in fluent English, came approached our booth, claimed that he would like to buy some (in-fact almost everything we have at the booth) hand-made products on behalf of his Church as a token of appreciation to church-mates on Mothers Day. As we chat, he constantly mentioned many terms & people whom some are related to our field to gain trust from us.
“My wife tried to make a clock, she’s amateur and end up the clock only moves every 2 hours, ahhaha”…
“Last year we bought from a french lady and each hand-made product cost RM60 and above”…
“I was working in Singapore for the past 5 years, in IT related field”…
“You know Eric? The interior designer?”…
We believe that he was trying to either steal our cash box, or to run away with our mobile phones. We’re lucky as he finally did not manage to get any benefits and quietly walked away with his phone conversation when we were busy packing up for his yet-to-pay products (And (suspect that) he still came back 2 days later when it was another Oh&Ah staff working… )
Conclusion, we would like to make a statement here that Oh&Ah did not have any deal/sale with any church or any particular organization so far. And would like everyone else to beware of cases like this.
To all designers & handicraft makers friends of ours, beware of people who talked tooooo much… and when anything sounds too good to be true comes to you, you got to stay rational! It could be a trap. Good luck everybody!
Sincerely,
Oh&Ah!
